AI will destroy 40 percent of jobs, IMF warns

Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), gave this warning in a statement on Monday.

At least 40 percent of the world’s jobs will be destroyed in the near future due to the violence of artificial intelligence or artificial intelligence (AI). As a result, there will be a jump in unemployment and this massive underemployment will exacerbate the financial inequality of the society.

Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), gave this warning in a statement on Monday. He said, “If the governments and policy makers of different countries of the world are not aware now, then in the near future, 40 percent of jobs will be destroyed due to AI and as a result, the existing financial inequality around the world will become more intense.”

In a statement, the IMF said that the adverse effects of artificial intelligence will be mainly in advanced economies. Entrepreneurs will reduce the number of workers and increase the use of artificial intelligence to reduce production costs. It is this trend of entrepreneurship that will drive those economies towards mass unemployment, the IMF said.

Not that less advanced economies are completely risk-free. The IMF has given a message that maximum 26 percent unemployment may occur in those economies as well.

According to the leading US investment firm Goldman Sachs, in the next few years, at least 300 million full-time (full-time) jobs will be completely lost worldwide due to artificial intelligence.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, however, said there is no reason to worry about the future due to the advent of AI. Because in the coming days, changes will be made in the education system in various countries including developed countries due to necessity. As a result, AI will no longer be a threat.

However, the Managing Director of the IMF is in favor of taking a more specific position on this issue. In a statement on Monday, he said, “Right now, countries need to adopt a social security system for workers and provide them with proper training.” If this step can be taken, then the level of disaster will be reduced a lot.
