Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has been appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan. He was appointed to the post on Sunday (April 28). Basically Ishaq Dar belongs to the ruling Sharif family of the country.

Reuters and Anadolu reported this information in separate reports on Sunday.

According to the report, Pakistan’s foreign minister Ishaq Dar has been appointed as the country’s deputy prime minister on Sunday.

A statement from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s office said, “The Prime Minister has appointed Foreign Affairs Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar as Deputy Prime Minister with immediate effect and until further orders.”

However, despite the new appointment, Ishaq Dar will continue to perform his duties as foreign minister, according to Pakistani media.

Anadolu says Ishaq Dar is part of the country’s ruling Sharif family and is currently in Saudi Arabia with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to attend the World Economic Forum conference.

Originally, Ishaq Dar’s son got married to the daughter of Nawaz Sharif, the elder brother of Pakistan’s three-time Prime Minister and current Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
