Six people were killed in a gunman’s attack on a mosque in the western part of Afghanistan and Mufti Abdul Mateen Kani, the spokesman of the country’s Ministry of Interior, said this information.

A gunman attacked a mosque in western Afghanistan, killing six people. One person was injured in this incident. The incident happened on Monday (April 29) around 9 pm local time in Gujra district of Herat province.

Taliban Interior Ministry spokesman Matin Kani said an unidentified gunman opened fire on worshipers at a mosque in Herat province’s Guzara district around 9 p.m. Monday.

On Tuesday (April 30) morning, Matin Kani wrote on X social media that six civilians were killed and one was injured during the gun attack.

Meanwhile, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. But analysts say the regional branch of the militant group Islamic State poses the biggest threat to Afghanistan’s security.
