Tim Hortons Celebrates 60 Years with Menu Revamp and Dutchie Return

After decades of pleas, Tim Hortons is bringing back the iconic Dutchie doughnut, a sweet, square treat with raisins, on January 10th, 2024. This marks the Dutchie’s return for the brand’s 60th anniversary, alongside other nostalgic favorites and new menu additions.

The Dutchie’s comeback isn’t just a nostalgic treat. It’s part of a larger plan to pay homage to Tim Hortons’ roots, when the menu was simpler and the brand synonymous with Canadian staples like apple fritters. In total, four retro donuts are returning in 2024, with the other three remaining a delicious mystery for now.

But reviving a classic is no cakewalk. Tim Hortons has committed to removing artificial ingredients from its core menu, and the Dutchie recipe needed tweaks to fit this commitment while staying true to its original taste. The company’s test kitchen played a crucial role, with chefs perfecting the recipe and ensuring it could be replicated in Tim Hortons’ 4,000 Canadian restaurants.
