The ninth edition of the International Twenty20 World Cup has started from June 2. Canada cricket team is playing in this ongoing tournament. However, none of the players in the team is from Canada. Canada’s cricket team is on loan.

Last Sunday at 6:30 AM Bangladesh time, Canada vs. USA faced off in the opening match of the ninth edition of the World Cup.

In that match, Canada did not even win a challenging score of 194 runs. Lost by 7 wickets. Canada had 7 cricketers born in India in that match.

Not only that! The 22 cricketers who played for Canada and the United States in the first match were not born in America or Canada! Cricketers from 10 countries played for two teams.

Of the 11 players that USA fielded in the first match, 6 were born in Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, Canada and India.

On the other hand, the 11 players in the Canadian team were cricketers born in 6 countries.

A surprising fact is that while the US team has Canadian players, Canada does not have any players born in their country.
