Prime Minister Justin Trudeau meets with Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson

The prime ministers noted the close relationship and history of co-operation between Canada and Sweden.

As the 2023 Guest of Honour, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attended the annual Nordic Prime Ministers’ Meeting on June 26 and met with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. Since Prime Minister Kristersson took office in October 2022, this was the leaders’ first meeting.

The prime ministers mentioned the long history of cooperation between Sweden and Canada. They expressed once more their deep concern regarding the consequences of Russia’s ongoing, illegal, and unjustifiable war against Ukraine.
