Ford Canada has announced a critical recall affecting nearly 3,000 Bronco Sport and Escape SUVs from model years 2022 and 2023. A cracked fuel injector could cause a gasoline leak, increasing the risk of an engine compartment fire.

Ford is urging owners of affected vehicles to visit their nearest dealership immediately for a software update and the installation of a drain tube. These measures are designed to mitigate the fire risk. Additionally, Ford is offering an extended warranty covering cracked fuel injector replacement for 15 years or 240,000 kilometers.

This recall is an expansion of a previous one targeting older models with the same issue. In the United States, a similar recall was issued, affecting over 40,000 vehicles.

Ford owners can find more information and check if their vehicle is included in the recall by visiting the Transport Canada website or contacting their Ford dealer.
