Bangladeshi expatriate Sharif Rahman was killed in an attack by miscreants in Canada. He died on Thursday night local time while undergoing treatment at a London hospital in Ontario province.

Sharif was involved in the restaurant business ‘The Curry House’ in the heart of Owen Sound down town in that province. On August 17, three people came to eat there. At that time, they attacked Sharif as soon as he came to the restaurant. He was seriously injured. He was rescued and taken to London Hospital in Ontario. He died on Thursday while undergoing treatment there.

Sharif Rahman’s house is in Bateshwar area next to Sylhet Cantonment. He graduated from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology and obtained a Master’s degree in International Development from Glasgow University, London. Later completed MPhil from Cambridge University. After that he moved to Canada. There he started a restaurant business called ‘The Curry House’ in 2015.

His wife Shaila also completed her graduation from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. They have a seven-year-old daughter. The mayor of Owen Sound City has expressed deep concern in this incident. At the same time, flags were kept at half-mast in the city on Friday local time. Police have released photos of the two suspects.
