What I have received is more than what I deserve. Therefore, arrogance does not suit me. Perhaps you haven’t reached your most deserving place yet. Maybe some obstacles stood in the way of fulfilling your dreams. However, life should not be poisoned by constant lament. If I boast about what I’ve gained, my achievements will be rendered meaningless. If you sit idly in sorrow, will the problem be solved? No, it will only make the complexities of life worse.
The Creator has placed each of us where we are deemed most appropriate. In the course of our work, some are destined to fall, while others are given the opportunity to be honored. None of us are beyond testing. Time continuously moves forward. Where the riverbank is eroding, a new one is being formed.
Arrogance is the root of downfall, while patience is the ladder to ascent. Humility is essential. Just because you hold a high position doesn’t mean life has grown bigger. No one is guaranteed a long life. Many prominent people are struggling with mental anguish, suffering from physical ailments. You can’t determine happiness by someone’s outward appearance.
There is no end to indulgence. Those with eyes that hunger, hearts filled with immense greed, or endless desires for power find little chance of satisfaction. Those who are mentally unfulfilled are actually ungrateful. And the ungrateful will always remain on the list of divine discontent.
You can use beauty, youth, wealth, or power to oppress others; deceive, cheat, or hinder others to fulfill your desires. But if people could hear what is said behind their backs, they would be ashamed to the point of seeking death. They would spend their lives running away from the truth.
Those who evaluate people with arrogance and pride, who fail to see the worth of the poor and helpless, are far behind in the race to attain humanity. The one who is a grand planner, in the Creator’s vision, aims for the collective good. They elevate others to a position of honor when they know they can maintain that dignity. The idea that such a person deceives others is contrary to their own honor and reputation.
The equation of life’s gains and losses is not as simple as we think. Beneath everything, there is a subtle design.
Those who parade their own greatness often find that God opens the door to their humiliation. He tests them both by giving and withholding, measuring their gratitude. If humans received everything they desired, there would be no thrilling tales of joy or sorrow. People would forget how to laugh or cry. Life would feel meaningless.
The pages of history are filled with the stories of those whose arrogance led to their downfall. Meanwhile, those who remained humble, who showed compassion to others, and stood by them in difficult times, have been honored in the most unexpected ways. In doing so, they found true mental peace.
Money or material wealth is not the ultimate goal of a noble life. Wealth may provide a start to superficial happiness, but the true value of life is realized in its subtleties — through the pursuit of finer joys. The mindset to accept both happiness and sorrow equally must be cultivated. Only then can spiritual growth be assured.
Indulgence is truly enjoyable only when it is followed by a history of deprivation. If someone who has been hurt then goes on to harm others in retaliation, it means they have not yet learned the real lesson. There is nothing more beautiful in this world than forgiveness.
To bow with a grateful heart, to remain content in all circumstances — is there anything more adorned than this? By abandoning arrogance and living side by side with all people, we find the true fulfillment of human life.
