World’s best cities to live in 2023

Vienna retained its top spot this year with the highest scores in stability, health care, education and infrastructure.

The quality of life in many cities around the world has started to improve again after the corona pandemic came to a standstill.

According to the Economist Intelligence Unit’s annual Global Liveability Index, the overall standard of living in many cities has reached a 15-year high.

The Economist Intelligence Unit compiles the list of 173 cities every year on indicators including socio-economic stability, health care system, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.

Overall stability scores have fallen sharply in the face of growing concerns over the cost of living globally and civil unrest in cities such as Kiev. But progress has been made in healthcare and education, mainly in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Culture and environment indicators have also improved since the lifting of Covid restrictions around the world. Because, the organization of various types of events has started again. Although data can give a picture of how livable these cities are, only those who live in these cities day after day can tell why they like them so much.
