World Population Day was celebrated on Tuesday (June 11) by the initiative of the United Nations. According to the United States Department of Population, by the year 2050 the world’s population will be 9.7 billion. That is about one thousand crores. At this time, India, China and Nigeria will be the three most populous countries in the world.
In 1950 the world population was 2.5 billion. In 2022, the population will be 8 billion. The world population issue has crossed two important milestones in the past year. In November last year, the world population touched the 8 billion mark for the first time.
In April last year, the name of India emerged as the most populous country in the world. China used to be the most populous. In 1955, the world’s population was 2.8 billion, now China and India have this number of people. While the world’s population is increasing, birth rates in South Korea, Japan are declining.
