It is proposed to change the name of Sugandha Beach in Cox’s Bazar to Bangabandhu Beach. At the same time, it has been proposed to name the empty space between Sugandha Beach and Kalatali Beach as ‘Veer Muktijoddha Beach’.

According to a letter from the Ministry, this decision was taken in the 13th meeting of the Standing Committee of the Ministry of Liberation War of the 11th National Parliament.

The February 19 letter said that instructions have been given to name Sugandha Beach of Cox’s Bazar beach ‘Bangabandhu Beach’ after the great architect and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman of independent Bangladesh and the space between Sugandha Beach and Kalatali Beach as ‘Bir Muktijoddha Beach’ after the heroic freedom fighters. In this regard, according to the decision of the 13th meeting of the Standing Committee of the Ministry of Liberation War of the 11th National Parliament, instructions are given to take further necessary measures.

However, nothing was written in that letter about when the meeting took place.
