Strategies to protect yourself during difficult times in life!

Life will bring extremely difficult times—moments when nothing feels right, and everything seems unbearable. You might even lose the will to live. During such times, it’s often best to withdraw, to stay hidden. Sometimes, solitude is necessary for self-preservation. Distancing yourself from crowds and keeping your pain private can be the wisest choice. However, if you find someone you can truly trust—someone who stands by you and offers you strength—sharing your pain with them can lighten the burden. The ice of accumulated sorrow begins to melt.

Yet, in today’s world, trust is broken more often than it is built. People tend to exploit others’ vulnerabilities, turning even small wounds into unbearable pain. That’s why it’s better to bury your sorrows deep within yourself, to conceal your struggles so well that even those closest to you barely notice. If your hardships become public knowledge, you’ll find far more people waiting to see you fall than those willing to help you rise. Many will eagerly anticipate your downfall, ready to celebrate your defeat. Since identifying the right people to trust is not easy, don’t make the mistake of confiding in the wrong ones and increasing your own suffering.

Life will throw many storms your way—gusts strong enough to burn down the forest of your soul. Sudden tempests will strip away the green leaves and flowers from your life’s branches. But will you simply stand by, helplessly watching your own downfall? Absolutely not! You must be strong. You cannot allow the winds of adversity to scatter your resolve. You cannot let minor blows shatter your faith. In tough times, you must take control and face hardships with courage, holding on in hope of better days ahead.

If you ever feel the need to cry, do so alone. If others see your tears, they may perceive you as weak. No matter how immense the sorrow, how deep the wounds, or how overwhelming the pain—do not let the world know. Handle it on your own. Remember, dear one, if you cannot be your own source of light, no amount of external light will guide you forward. Most people are cruel and unkind. Since you can never be sure who is genuinely compassionate and who will betray your trust, do not hand over your last flicker of hope to the wrong person. Human nature is often ruthless—many find a twisted joy in breaking what is already shattered.

You must live for yourself, take care of yourself. Stay where you are valued, and surround yourself with people who honor trust. Throughout life, many wrong people will enter your path. How you deal with them will determine your peace and happiness. Before revealing everything to someone, think carefully. We often blame time for our misfortunes, but in reality, there is no such thing as a ‘wrong time.’ It is our own choices that make time unbearable. Staying well is essential in life, and in a world without trust, true happiness remains elusive.
