Sisimpur won the International Tele Award

This popular Shishtosh series created for Bangladeshi children has won three world-renowned awards in less than three years.

After Kidscreen Award and Anthem Award, this time Sisimpur won the internationally acclaimed International Tele Award. Sisimpour was honored at the 45th Tele Awards for her contribution to positive change in society through the inclusion of new character Julia in the TV series and the inclusion of sign language in the episodes with messages of diversity, equality and inclusion.

This popular Shishtosh series created for Bangladeshi children has won three world-renowned awards in less than three years. Since the beginning, this popular children’s series has been produced with the financial support of USAID Bangladesh.

Since 1979, the Tele Award has been given for contributing to positive change in society and the world through meaningful work through visual media. About 13 thousand programs from 56 countries of the world were submitted for this year’s award. Apart from Bangladesh’s Sisimpur, other world-renowned organizations receiving awards this year include The Newsweek, LinkedIn, Al Jazeera, Disney, Pepsi Foundation, NBC Television, National Geographic, Sky News, NASA Television, Clinton Foundation, Walmer and Warner Brothers.

It should be noted that in 2022, Sisimpur won the Kidscreen Award, known as the Oscar for children. Then won the world famous Anthem Award in January 2024. Earlier in 2010, Sisimpur was selected as the best children’s program in Bangladesh and the third most popular program overall in a survey conducted by the BBC World Service Trust.

Since 2005, the Bangladeshi version of Sesame Street, ‘Sisimpur’, has been working under the pre-primary child development program with the aim of ‘Let children become more accomplished, more strong and more kind’.

Mohammad Shah Alam, managing director of Sisemi Workshop Bangladesh, the manufacturing company of Sisimpur, expressed his excitement at the news of winning the International Tele Award. Tele Award is a very prestigious award. This is a matter of great pride, which will greatly inspire our future work.

He said, Sisemi Workshop Bangladesh has been implementing the Sisimpur program for 19 years to make pre-primary children’s education and their childhood developed, joyful and fun. I think this success is not ours alone. Our production partners, broadcast partners, writers, artists, puppeteers, crew and all the children of our country share in this success.
