Mass weddings are popular in Afghanistan to save costs. Recently, mass marriages of 50 couples were organized there on the same day. In this type of marriage, the new couple does not have to worry about the pressure of expenses. As a result, such arrangements are gaining popularity day by day among those with low income.
Usually a good amount of money is spent on wedding arrangements. People with low income have to face a lot of trouble to organize such events. But everyone likes to organize some wedding.
That is why young Afghans are now leaning towards mass marriage. Recently a charity organized a mass wedding in Kabul. The married couple were given several gifts including a carpet and household items to mark the start of their new life.
The Taliban took over the country in August 2021. After that, music was banned in the country. There was no singing and playing in this mass wedding. Rather, the marriage ceremony is completed through the recitation of the Qur’an.
