After being closed for four years, the visa of Maldives is going to be opened again for Bangladeshi workers. The Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology of Maldives confirmed the matter in an announcement. This announcement will allow skilled Bangladeshi workers to enter the country legally. However, the arrival of unskilled workers will be suspended for the time being.

Ban on bringing Bangladeshi workers for one year from September 2019 to deal with the problem of illegal immigrants. But the government has increased it over the years. However, this ban is no longer being extended after the formation of the new government. As a result, the labor market of the country is going to be opened for Bangladesh after overcoming the ban.

As a result of the Bangladeshi labor ban, workers from India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and other countries have increased significantly in the Maldives. Meanwhile, Immigration has now decided to launch a major crackdown on the problem of illegal immigrants. The Immigration Department has launched an operation to find a quick solution to the problem of illegal immigrants in the country. About 150 Bangladeshi workers have been arrested in the raid.
