India is considering on-arrival visa: Prannoy Verma

After the meeting, the High Commissioner told reporters that the introduction of on-arrival visa facility for Bangladeshi citizens will be discussed.

On-arrival visas for Bangladeshi citizens in India have been under discussion for quite some time. Prannoy Kumar Verma, the high commissioner of the country appointed in Dhaka, said that an on-arrival visa is being considered for Bangladeshis in India.

The High Commissioner said this while talking to reporters after a courtesy meeting with Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Muhammad Farooq Khan at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

After the meeting, the High Commissioner told reporters that the introduction of on-arrival visa facility for Bangladeshi citizens will be discussed.

Meanwhile, regarding the on-arrival visa for Indian citizens in Bangladesh, the aviation minister said that a coordinated decision will be taken after discussions with the Ministry of Home Affairs and others regarding the on-arrival visa facility for Indian citizens.

About Biman Bangladesh, the minister said, Bangladesh Biman has no problem, it is running smoothly and profitably. However, if there is a complaint of corruption in Biman, it will be investigated.

Earlier on January 23, Minister of State for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury had a meeting with Prannoy Verma. At the end of the meeting, the Minister of State for Maritime Affairs said that we have talked about visas. All formalities are completed within a week for those who go for treatment. Talked about on-arrival visas, they will work on them. We will have better news on this.
