Dr. Sabrina claims innocence and seeks justice

Dr. Sabrina Sharmin, Chairperson of JKGH Healthcare, has claimed her innocence in a fraud case filed by the Election Commission. The Election Commission filed the case against her for concealing information and making a second National Identity Card (NID).

On Monday (February 12), Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Ahmed rejected her bail plea and framed charges against her. At the same time, he fixed June 13 next for the recording of evidence in the case.

When asked whether she was guilty or not guilty at the time of framing of charges, Dr. Sabrina said, “I am innocent. I expect justice from the court.”

The case against Sabrina was filed with Badda Police Station on August 30, 2020 by Gulshan Police Station Election Officer Mohammad Momin Mia. Last year on November 24, Detective Inspector Ripan Uddin submitted the charge sheet to the court.
