There is a general election scheduled to be held in Canada in 2025. Immigration policy has become a significant issue in Canadian politics prior to this.

On Wednesday, the Canadian government announced that it would issue study permits to 437,000 students by 2025. In 2023, the country approved 599,390 students to study in Canada. In the first seven months of this year, 175,920 students were approved to go to Canada.

In addition, the Canadian government has indicated that it will reduce the number of work permits for foreign workers. In a statement, Canadian Immigration Minister Marc Miller said, “The reality is that not everyone who wants to come to Canada can.

In April, temporary residents constituted 6.8% of Canada’s total population. The Canadian government aims to reduce this figure to 5%.
