Awami League to hold national council on Dec 24

Awami League (AL) Central Working Committee on Friday (October 28) decided to hold its 22nd national council on December 24 at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.

Party’s General Secretary Obaidul Quader revealed the matter after AL’s Central Working Committee’s meeting held at PM’s official residence Ganabhaban.

He said the inaugural session would be held in the morning, while the council session in the afternoon to be followed by a colourful cultural function in the evening.

Awami League president sheikh Hasina will deliver the welcome address in the inaugural session.

Quader said that the party president gave directives to hold the council in a simple ceremony to maintain austerity in view of the global crisis.
