Afif Hossain’s dream of playing Global T20 in Canada has not been fulfilled due to visa issue despite receiving No Objection Letter (NOC) from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
The left-handed batsman did not get his visa in time to travel to Canada. As a result, he decided not to go as the event was nearing its end.
He was supposed to go to Canada on July 30 last.
Afif has joined the ongoing fitness camp of the initial squad of Bangladesh team as the plan to play Global T20 in Canada fell through.
Meanwhile, Liton Das is participating in the Global T20 Canada and Shakib Al Hasan also participated in the tournament before joining the Lankan Premier League (LPL) in Sri Lanka.
Shariful Islam and Tawheed Hriday are currently busy playing in this year’s LPL.
The initial team that started the fitness camp in Mirpur will play the Yo-Yo Test this week. After the fitness assessment, the selection committee will finalize the squad, narrowing it down to 20 or 15 members.
