Newcomer Uganda in T20 World Cup was not noticed by Afghanistan. The Afghans made a big collection by batting first.

Later, the batsmen of the African team could not stand in front of their pacer Fazalhaq Farooqui and other bowlers. And the Afghans started the tournament with a huge victory.
Afghanistan registered a massive 125-run win in their first match in Group ‘C’ at the Providence Stadium in Guyana today. This is the fourth highest win in T20 World Cup in terms of runs. Batting first, they put up a collection of 183 runs for 5 wickets with the bats of two openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran. In reply, despite batting up to 16 overs, Uganda could score only 58 runs after losing all the wickets. This is the fourth-lowest all-out in a World Cup.

After losing the toss, the Afghans went into bat and scored 154 runs in the bats of the two openers. With the way Gurbaz and Zadran were batting, it was only a matter of time before the Afghans scored two hundred. But in the end it didn’t happen. In the 15th over, Ugandan captain and leg-spinner Brian Masaba dismissed Zadran. Jadran, who scored 70 runs in 46 balls with 9 fours and 1 six, returned directly bowled.

Gurbaz also returned in the next over. Gurbaz scored 76 off 45 balls before returning with a catch from Ugandan bowler Alpesh Ramzani; Hit 4 sixes and fours. But after that, the speed of the run wheel of Afghanistan decreased strangely. Wickets also fell at regular intervals. Mohammad Nabi remained unbeaten with the third highest score of 14 runs. The rest could not even touch double digits. As a result, their innings stopped far from two hundred.

However, despite success at the bowling end, Uganda’s real weakness is revealed in batting. No one could stand in front of the Afghan pacers. Faruqi hit them in the first over. He also announced the possibility of a hat-trick by taking wickets in two consecutive balls. Uganda could not handle that shock. They once lost 5 wickets for 18 runs in the fall of consecutive wickets. It was only the fourth over of the innings.

Uganda tried to put up some resistance after the fifth wicket fell. Riyazat Ali Shah and Robinson Obua are bitten by the crease. But they could not score runs. Although both reached double figures somehow. Among them, Riyazat has set the record of lowest strike rate innings in T20. Riyazat now has the lowest strike rate from at least 25 balls (11 runs from 34 balls, strike rate 32.35.

Riyazat and Robinson’s resistance was broken in the 13th over. Where Riyazat on the first ball and Masaba on the next ball, Farooqui once again raised the possibility of a hat-trick. But not this time either. But Farooqui dismissed Robinson on the last ball of the over. In the end he took 5 wickets with only 9 runs in 4 overs. Which is the fourth best bowling figure in T20 World Cup. Afghanistan’s Naveen-ul-Haq and Rashid Khan took 2 wickets each. The rest of the wickets belonged to Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
