International Conference on Counter-Terrorism and Extremism in New Delhi on 20-21 October

An international conference on ‘Countering Religious Extremism’ will be held in New Delhi on October 20-21 under the initiative of the Indo-Islamic Heritage Center (IIHC).
Assistant Editor of Dainik Purbadesh and presidium member of Bangladesh Islamic Front Professor Mohammad Abu Taleb Belal, Joint Secretary General of Bangladesh Islamic Front Mohammad Abdur Rahim and Executive Editor of Indo-Bangladesh Joint Journal ‘Sufi’ Imran Hussain Tushar will participate as representatives of Bangladesh in this two-day conference.
The first day of the two-day conference will be held on Friday at Aiwan e Ghalib Mata Sundari Road in Delhi and the second day on Saturday at Mashaikh Manzil, Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah, New Delhi.
Director of IIHC Professor Syed Liaquat Hossain Moini and Dr. Sujat Ali Quadri said about the conference, the objective of the conference is to bring together experts, policy makers, academics, religious leaders and other stakeholders and address the challenges posed by religious extremism and terrorism in India and Bangladesh. These conferences generally focus on various aspects related to countering extremism.
Throwing light on India-Bangladesh relations, Professor Moini said, India-Bangladesh relations are not today, since 1971 this relation has been at every level. This conference will further strengthen relationship and trust building.
The host India participated in the conference as a panelist, Syed Farid Nizami, official decorator of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya Dargah, Delhi, Mufti Ashfaq Hussain, Chairman of All India Tanzim Ulama e Islam, Professor GY Anjum, Head of Islamic Studies, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, Padma Awardee Maulana Azad University, Jodhpur. Vice Chancellor Professor Akhtarul Wasi, Assistant Professor of Jamia Millia Islamia University New Delhi. Abdul Waheed Nazir, editor of the monthly magazine ‘Kanjul Iman’ Mohammad Zafaruddin Barkati and others.
