Cadre – carries a colonial-style fear-mongering thing in the name! Education cadre – something more than a teacher? A bigger identity than the teacher identity – what is that? What kind of teacher is he in terms of meaning? The best teacher of all teachers? Admin cadre – what kind of advertisement is it! Police cadre – that’s okay since there are pistols, guns and ammunition! But postal cadre – leave it out. I have a different story!
As part of public administration reforms, there has been a recommendation to remove the word cadre from the title of BCS officers. But the problem lies elsewhere! If we change the name of Babu and keep it Sadhu Babu – how much will the character change? We need to change the character. If the government organizes a name change in the name of reform, Bidia will become BGB, but all the other desired changes will happen, right?
Since there is no need for akika to change the name of any post or position, I have left out the word cadre for now. But have any initiatives been taken to resolve the questions that are in the public mind, the inequality in cadres or the conflict in chairs? The question of whether the quality of education increases or decreases by creating a cadre of teachers is now irrelevant, but will the caste system that exists in the cadre also be removed? The most important thing is – will the expectations of the people from the bureaucrats and police be met? If not, then changing the name in the name of reform will be a futile task. Rather, the focus should be on the work!
In fact, we have to get down to the ground. We have to dig where the problems are. We have to apply ointment and administer medicine. The violence of power, the extent of corruption, and the partisan policy must be eliminated and the deserving ones given higher positions. Promotions based on political considerations, postings in lobbying – if these are not stopped, nothing will be pure. The servants on the ladder that bridges power with the people must be disillusioned. If the feeling of “honour” does not subside, even if all the words “cadre-header” are removed, nothing will be done in the name of reform. There is no point in changing the packaging, rather the goods inside must be changed. If the thing is pure, it does not matter which bottle you put it in!
What is the Bangla of cadre? Padali! All the people of the country will have to be born again to understand Padali. Those who are servants of the state and the people should have names that rickshaw pullers and laborers understand when they hear them, this is such and such a thing! It comes in handy! Since the salary money comes from the sweat of the poor! Don’t ask me – from whose sweat the bribe comes! I am ignorant. The country has been suffering for the past few decades from the danger that arises when the people’s servants become the owners of all the power! Its effects should stop here! Otherwise, the people will burn the kunti!
The power that shows and the power that does not show – what is the difference between the two? By conscience. The justification needed to exercise power should come from conscience. The state should reserve the right to show power to the qualified. However, I wish that people who are obsessed with partisanship and bigotry should not lead this nation astray – with that desire, I desire reform in public administration. We need to create a beacon of light.
The greatness of a person cannot be measured by cadre, non-cadre or non-cadre outside the cadre. In fact, a person can be understood by his work. A person’s achievements are judged by his behavior and words. It is more important to be a person than to be a cadre. Reform initiatives should be developed so that people can succeed. People are more needed than cadres in state formation. In any case, people’s livelihood should increase. These days, it seems very empty. Hearing about the abuse of power, hearing the names of those involved in money laundering, reading the list of bribe-takers and corrupt people – the mental weakness that one feels is indescribable.
