In excessive indulgence, humanity’s hunger!

Imagine if the world ended today. The fish, meat, and vegetables stored in your refrigerator would have been enough to feed your family for another fifteen days! Leaving this hypothetical scenario, let’s turn to reality. A significant portion of the current fish and meat shortage would be alleviated if freezing practices were reduced. By ‘reduced,’ we don’t mean completely stopping. It simply implies halting the excessive storage of goods beyond immediate needs. If people were to adopt the principle of distributing daily necessities equitably and storing only surpluses, inequality within the country would decrease. We’ll discuss the limits of needs in a moment.

Let me share a personal experience. During the recent heatwave, our area faced a power outage for several days. Hoping for a quick restoration, many people avoided opening their refrigerators. However, when the power was finally restored after three days, the food inside was no longer fit for consumption. On the other hand, there were fewer customers in the fish market due to the abundant supply. Prices of fish, meat, vegetables, and fruits dropped by almost half. This made the products affordable for everyone. While producers suffered minor losses, those who were accustomed to making a profit of thirteen taka on a one-taka investment were significantly distressed, at least mentally.

A decrease in hoarding will reduce scarcity. Human suffering will be reduced. Overstocking has two major disadvantages. First: An artificial shortage of goods is created in the market. Due to which the price of the product has skyrocketed. Second: The real taste of the foodstuff is lost. As a result, almost all of us suffer from deadly diseases that were unknown to the world thirty years ago. When the stock system was not introduced in the world, the history of civilization says that no one died for lack of food. And now the era of hoarding is going on. But countless people are dying of hunger. Millions of children of Adam and Eve are suffering from malnutrition. Here and in Africa. Children in a significant part of the country are growing up on non-vegetarian diets as the refrigerators are overflowing with meat and fish. It will pay off soon.

Due to the lack of purchasing power of the second and third tier consumers, the shortage of daily food products is increasing due to the removal of everything from the market in order to keep the refrigerator full at home. The question may come, those who buy for stock do not come to the market day by day. It’s true. But when everything is bought for savings, it is superfluous. Doing the daily market every day satisfies the hunger of the stomach but saving for the future also increases the hunger of the eyes. People’s sense of reality disappears in the thought of tomorrow. Then he buys like a madman.

After hearing this theory and information, the businessmen who sell refrigerators will come rushing to me! What does this guy say! let him come But while these discoveries of science have greatly helped in many fields, illegal traders have established an empire of stocks and greedy appetites of private ownership are doing many harms to mankind. If there is an absence of electricity for three days from today, how many crores of food will be lost – can you imagine? We are stockpiling so much for the future that millions of people go to bed hungry every night without being able to source the food they need. One’s addiction to immoral and reckless accumulation disenfranchises many.

If there are no people to market to, then stock up on two meals. But don’t freeze too much just because you got it cheap. It destroys the rights of others. Resources are always more limited than people. So if someone accumulates excess, he is an indirect cause of hunger of some. Cursed by the Lord on the overaccumulator of need and the one who counts it over and over again. You have a lot of land, not sure if you can enjoy it or not, but a poor father could not always buy rice and necessary market for the family – will this sin leave you? Question, why should he catch me in sin because he could not?

A shortage of goods occurs in the market when you buy more than you need. Because supply is limited. When the demand for goods increases, the producer or trader is forced to increase or increase the price. This is the supply chain or cycle that has a direct impact on inventory trends. Traders sense when consumer demand exceeds demand and raise prices by creating artificial shortages. Moreover, the syndicate problem in the market is the problem of Ajanm in Bangladesh. Buy the necessary parts to give people relief, to make life easier. The disease of freezing or hoarding is calling our consumerist society. Which is not at all beneficial for humanity but destructive. May life be rich in humanity, not in greed or infatuation.
