True beauty lies not in appearance, but in one’s character and actions

Beauty has no specific color. A person, regardless of their skin tone or shape, is beautiful. If we prioritize a particular color, it’s a flaw in our character. Humans have repeatedly played a role in poisoning society, destroying families, and breaking hearts by pointing fingers at people’s skin color. Yet, true beauty lies in a person’s behavior, their words, and most importantly, their character. What you see on the outside will fade with time.

You’re confusing beauty and color. The person you deem unattractive may be the world’s greatest mother to someone. The person you call short or fat may be someone’s beloved father, brother, or son. If you view people through the lens of pleasure, then you can differentiate beauty based on color. But to say that someone’s skin color is dirty is not a human sentiment.

If you were given the power of creation, you wouldn’t be able to shape humans the way they are. The Mona Lisa was painted based on the human form. The creator, with their utmost creativity, lovingly created humans, and you’re finding fault in that. Doesn’t that seem like a sin? No human has the moral right to call any creation ugly. Even if someone seems unattractive to you, it’s still wrong because you don’t know what lies within them or who resides in their heart.

Is the beauty you perceive, the shape you consider perfect, universally acknowledged? Are the definitions of beauty in Asia and Africa the same? Yet, a kind heart, a warm smile, humanity, and compassion make a person more beautiful than any physical attribute. Skin deep beauty is fleeting. While skin color may temporarily please the eye, a good person is essential for lifelong peace of mind. Skin color cannot bring about peace; it can even breed arrogance in some.

You might say, “These are just idealistic notions, reality is different.” I agree. But who created this society? If you and I didn’t, why aren’t we breaking these color taboos? When a child is born with a skin tone society deems ‘unclean’, it’s our child! Why are we not eradicating colorism? How much longer will we tolerate such barbarity?

Believe me, Bangladesh has one of the most heinous forms of colorism in the world. Here, the happiness associated with the birth of a child depends on whether it’s a boy or a girl. When a child is born with dark skin, parents face endless taunts. People whisper about how the child’s skin is ‘dirty’, questioning how such a child could be born to parents with ‘good’ skin. Humans are such strange creatures!

A society that creates different opportunities and disadvantages based on skin color is not free from discrimination. As long as good behavior, honesty, responsibility, or good character are not the criteria for measuring beauty, we will not be free from the hateful curse of racism. No matter how much we talk about humanity, discuss the excellence of consciousness, or become institutionally educated, the results of everything are zero. In thoughts and in dealing with people, we must first become human. A particular color preference is making us inhuman socially day by day.

Those who suffer from complexes about their shape and color should also come out of their mental misery. For me, no one is more valuable or beautiful than me. I am the most beautiful man in the world. I love myself the most. I don’t care how much the world mourns over my color. I live for myself. Just keep yourself away from those who hurt you. It is important to avoid toxic people for the sake of well-being. Should my heart be broken by someone else’s words? It’s not right to make your heart so cheap.

We need to acquire the quality and ability to amaze the world with good behavior, good character, or a simple smile. People gossip about the bodies and colors of heroes and heroines, but if they have to think about me, let it be because of my honesty and morality. Soon, the eyes that choose skin color and complexion will become dull. The many virtues will remain in people’s mouths. The beauty of beautiful men and women does not last beyond a certain age, but work lasts. Good thoughts also live.
