Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has changed its leadership. Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has been elected as the new chairman of the party. The party’s new leadership was announced on Saturday (December 2). This information has been given in a report of Geo News.

The party brought in new leadership ahead of the polls as party chairman Imran Khan is in jail and is constitutionally ineligible for election. The names of these selected have been released today. The party’s Chief Election Commissioner Niazullah Niazi announced the result. Barrister Gohar Ali Khan was declared the president.

Along with the chairman of the party, there has been a change in the post of central secretary. Omar Ayub Khan has been elected as the central secretary general of the party. Apart from this, Ali Amin Gandapur became the president of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and Dr. Punjab became the president. Yasmin Rashid.

In Pakistan, the central leadership of all political parties is reshuffled through the voting of party leaders and activists. The results of these elections have to be submitted to the Central Election Commission of the country. And according to the instructions of the Election Commission, PTI organized a vote to change the leadership.

Barrister Gohar Ali Khan was certain about the election of the party chairman. Because Imran Khan himself nominated him as his successor.

The general election date has been announced in the country on February 8. There was uncertainty about the participation of Imran-led PTI in this election. Barrister Gohar Ali Khan was elected chairman of the party in such a situation.

It should be noted that the former Prime Minister of Pakistan and head of Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan was arrested on August 5. He was arrested by the Punjab Police from his residence in Zaman Park, Lahore, after he was sentenced to three years in the Toshakhana case.

ECP filed this Toshakhana corruption case against Imran Khan. It is alleged in the case that Imran deliberately concealed the information about the gifts received from Toshakhana from the ECP while he was the Prime Minister. Usually gifts given by foreign governments or heads of state are kept in Toshakhana. Later, he was accused in this case on May 10.

There are currently around 180 cases against the former Prime Minister of Pakistan. He also termed these cases as politically motivated. Apart from this, he also denied these allegations.
