Politicians and lawmakers topped this year’s list of most powerful women. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is number one in the list. Christine Lagarde, president of the European Central Bank, is in the second. US Vice President Kamala Harris is in third place.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is in fourth place on the list and Taylor Swift is in fifth place.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is ranked 46th in the list of 100 most influential women. Sheikh Hasina’s position was 42nd in this list last year. Earlier in 2021 it was 43rd and in 2020 it was 39th in the list.

Forbes wrote about Sheikh Hasina, Sheikh Hasina Wazed, the longest-serving Prime Minister in the history of Bangladesh, is currently serving her fourth term. Besides, she is the longest serving woman head of government in the world. Sheikh Hasina is in power for the third consecutive term. His party Bangladesh Awami League won 288 out of 300 seats in the 2018 December 30 elections.

The magazine says that Sheikh Hasina is set to contest the January 2024 election for a 5th term despite growing calls for her resignation from opposition parties. There are allegations of voter suppression against him. However, he denied these allegations.

Note that since 2004, Forbes has been publishing the list of influential women in the world every year.
