There is a difference between talking face to face and talking face to face. This little thing is understood by a lover, but not by India? On the issue of Bangladesh’s independence and sovereignty, we should talk face to face, not face to face. There is no room to talk about protecting the country’s interests by thinking about who is ahead in military capability, which country is behind in population. Bangladesh has always been uncompromising on the issue of independence and sovereignty. Fairness means that even if we are few in number and weak in strength, we should still accept what is reasonable. Even if a person says the right thing, we should accept it. If someone threatens Bangladesh’s independence and sovereignty, as a citizen, we will bow down and accept it – that day has passed. Death will be tomorrow, if not today. Therefore, if we have to die a day earlier for the country, we will accept it with a smile. Death in the interest of the country is a million times more dignified and better than a natural death. Those who give their lives for the country are martyrs. And those who survive are Ghazis.
The way India is spreading propaganda and showing extremism about Bangladesh is extremely objectionable and condemnable. The arrogance and naked comments of the government and people of another country on the internal affairs of a country are contrary to civilized relations. India’s contribution to the history of Bangladesh’s birth is acceptable, but that does not mean that we have to accept a life of slavery to repay the debt. The relationship will be fair and equal. We do not want hostility with neighboring countries, but the barbaric attack on the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Agartala is unthinkable and condemnable. The Indian government is not able to suppress extremism in its own country – this is their failure, but the way they are making naked comments on Bangladesh’s internal issues is tantamount to arrogance.
No mischief against Bangladesh will be tolerated – the entire Bangladesh is united in this regard. The arrogance that India is showing does not allow us to talk to them in a soft tone or appease them. There is no greater priority before the people of this country than the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh. If the Indian ruling party ignores the oath of ‘motherland or death’ that the countrymen hold and cherish in their hearts, and does not understand the language of anger and resentment of the people of this country, then they will have to pay the price. If Bangladesh is not good, India has no chance of being good. There may be divisions among us on the basis of party, opinion, religion and tribe, but there will be no concession on the issue of patriotism. The soil of this country, the national flag or the map were bought at the price of blood, bought with blood. Bangladeshis will never hesitate to give as much blood as is necessary to protect the honor of these.
The Indian rulers should check the facts and comment on Bangladesh. India has no friendly country on its border due to its hostile behavior towards its neighbors. Until now, Bangladesh has respected India because the rulers needed India to stay in power. Those days are now in the past, far away. Due to the one-sided relationship between government and government, the hatred and anger of the people of Bangladesh against the ruling class of India is at a high level. India is now in a state of madness after losing the manifesto that India got to treat Bangladesh like a state. If this madness is limited to the borders of India, it is fine, but if it dares to cross the border and intrude into the tri-border of Bengal, then a terrible price will have to be paid for it.
India is solely responsible for the current interim government of Bangladesh against India and the anger and resentment of the people. India never prioritized the interests of Bangladesh in building India’s bilateral relations with Bangladesh. It even established dominance without treating it as an equal. The proof of which is the barbed wire, Farakka and Teesta dams on the border. We have not forgotten the Rohingya issue and the border killings. A group of guards like animals has started shouting to stop the greed that has increased day by day because India has got more than what it wanted so far.
The threat that comes from India from time to time to stop the import of onions, potatoes and chillies should be resolved. There is no shortage of alternative markets in the world. We buy with money; there is no demand from anyone. Bangladesh will suffer a little if these do not come from India, but they will not find such a profitable market like the Bangladesh market for selling all these products produced in India anywhere in the world. Therefore, threatening the people of Bangladesh means indirectly threatening the farmers of India. The rally of Indian farmers’ movement towards Delhi is surely still a terror in the mind of the BJP government. Has the Indian government forgotten the image of protesting by pouring milk on the road?
We do not want the cordial relations with the neighboring country to be ruined. However, the rumors and untruths going on about Bangladesh in India, the extremism and nakedness of policy going on, need to be stopped immediately. We will see its implementation soon with the government’s bold protest. With the bold pronouncements of the post-August high-ranking government, border killings have been almost zero in the last three months. Do you feel the change? The responsible people of the Indian government should think twice before commenting on any country. In the modern world, no one cares about anyone if there is no mutual respect. Due to the selfish propaganda of some extremist Indian media and a group, the relations between Bangladesh and India are becoming bitter. This is not desirable. For the good of the people of both countries, the two states should hold talks to continue the historical relations and implement trade and commerce smoothly between the people. No one wins in the end in a conflict between neighbors. Therefore, it is not desirable for the two friendly countries to suffer at the expense of the interests of a third party. On the other hand, the governments of the two countries should reach a long-term solution through sincere discussions and flexible policies.
