An Islamabad court ordered the recording of the statement of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif in the Toshakhana case. Yesterday, the court gave the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) time till November 30 to record the statement of the former prime minister.
Nawaz’s lawyer Kazi Misbah yesterday urged the court to issue directions to NAB to record Nawaz’s statement. At that time the NAB prosecutor sought time to consider the application.
However, Judge Muhammad Bashir said, ‘What is the problem? Call Nawaz Sharif and record his statement.’ The case alleges that Nawaz, former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Geelani took luxury vehicles and gifts from Toshakhana.
