The main aim of the service is to simplify the arrival process of visitors to Saudi Arabia by providing a single or unified number.

A passport is a type of travel document, usually issued by the government of a country. This document also certifies the nationality and identity of the carrier during international travel. However, the door to travel without a passport may be opening now.

And that travel opportunity can be found in the Middle East country of Saudi Arabia. Essentially, Saudi Arabia has developed a digital document that will allow travelers to enter the country without a passport.

Last Thursday (March 7) this information was reported by the media Arabian Business.

According to the report, Saudi Arabia has developed a digital document that will allow travelers to enter the country without a passport. The Saudi General Directorate of Passports displayed the digital document for visitors at the Ministry of Interior pavilion at the LEAP 2024 conference held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center.

This digital document service is one of the digital and technological solutions offered to beneficiaries including citizens, residents and visitors of Saudi Arabia. Those covered by this will get various services within Saudi Arabia.

The main aim of the service is to simplify the arrival process of visitors to Saudi Arabia by providing a single or unified number. Visitors or travelers will get an opportunity to get their digital identity or unified number from the ‘Abshar’ electronic platform of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the country.

This digital identity can be used by visitors or travelers through their mobile phones for all their movements within Saudi. And this will eliminate the need to have a passport.

The world’s most attended technology conference, LEAP 2024, highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) in advanced technology and innovative digital solutions with the participation of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior.
