Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has topped the list of world’s most popular political leaders for the fourth time. This information was revealed in the recent survey of US-based consultancy firm Glober Leader Approval Rating Tracker.

More than 5,000 adults from different countries participated in this survey, which was conducted from November 29 to December 5. Analyzing the results at the end of the event, 76 percent of these participants named Narendra Modi as their preferred global leader. On the other hand, 18 percent voted against it and 6 percent did not take a stand for or against it.

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is second in this list after Modi. However, even though he is in the second place, he is far away from Narendra Modi. 66 percent people supported him.

Third on the list is Swiss President Alain Berset with 58 percent support.

The fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth places on the list are Brazilian President Lula da Silva (49 percent support), Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese (47 percent support), Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni (41 percent support), Belgian Prime Minister Alexandre de Crew (37 percent support), US President Joe Biden (37 percent support) and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez (37 percent support).

The heads of state and government of Canada, the United Kingdom and France did not make it to the top 10 in terms of popularity in the Global Leader Approval Rating survey.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has 31 percent support, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has 25 percent support and French President Emmanuel Macron has only 24 percent support.

Incidentally, earlier Narendra Modi won the honor of the most popular global leader in November 2021 and January and August 2022 polls. The surveys were conducted under the supervision of various US agencies.

However, a section of Indian political analysts believe that the results of this survey will be “profitable” for Modi’s political party BJP. Because next year 2024 parliament election will be held in the country.
