Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal is imprisoned in New Delhi

Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of jailed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has alleged that the BJP-led government is using various central agencies to target the opposition ahead of India’s national elections. He strongly criticized the BJP-led government at the protest rally organized by the country’s opposition alliance ‘India’ at the famous Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on Sunday.

At that time, Sunita Kejriwal read a letter sent by the imprisoned Kejriwal to the leaders and activists present at the rally. The letter contains six promises of the Aam Aadmi Party (UP) ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Among these, Kejriwal has promised to give Delhi the status of a full state and provide 24-hour electricity service to the citizens.

National news agency NDTV reported that India Alliance leader Rahul Gandhi, Uddhav Thackeray, Mehbooba Mufti, Mallikarjun Kharge and Akhilesh Yadav, among others, took part in the massive rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan. Sunita Kejriwal read out a letter sent by the imprisoned Kejriwal at the rally.

“The people of India are with Kejriwal,” Sunita said in her maiden speech in front of thousands of activists. He cannot be jailed for life.”

Kejriwal has announced six promises for the people of Delhi ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In the letter, the Chief Minister of Delhi said that his main objective is to give Delhi the status of a full state and provide free healthcare to everyone in the country.

Six main election promises made by Kejriwal in the rally organized under the name ‘Save Loktantra Bachao’:

• Uninterrupted power facility

• Free electricity

• Revolutionary education system

• Universal health care

• Ensuring fair price to farmers

• Giving full statehood to Delhi

In the letter, Kejriwal wrote, “Dear Indians, I am not asking you for votes today. I am not even talking today about defeating someone to win elections. I am talking about making India a new India. Our country has everything. I’m in prison, here I get plenty of time to think. I am thinking for Mother India. Mother India is in pain today because people are not getting proper education, proper treatment, power cuts, broken roads.

Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the investigative body of the Union Finance Ministry, in connection with the liquor policy scam, just a few weeks before India’s national elections. Later, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court granted his remand till March 28 and sent him to ED custody. A Delhi court on Thursday extended his remand till April 1.
