Half of India’s adult citizens are ‘unfit’ i.e. not fully physically fit. Not only this, most women stay away from manual labor. As a result, their physical disability is increasing. Recently, a study in the Lancet Global Health Journal brought this sensational information to the fore.
The report was published by the Lancet after conducting a survey from 2000 to 2022. It says that 50 percent of India’s adult citizens, regardless of whether they are male or female, are physically ‘disabled’. On the other hand, 57 percent of Indian women do not do physical work as required.
Men (42 percent) scored well in laziness. In other words, Indian men are 14 percent ahead in terms of manual labor. India ranks second in the list of lazy in the entire South Asia.
But not only India but the whole world is a victim of machine-controlled urban civilization. One-third (31.3) of the world’s adult population does not engage in adequate physical activity. According to the Lancet survey, 197 countries in the world suffer from such poverty. People aged 60 years and above are also suffering from multiple physical problems due to lack of physical activity as required.
Health experts claim that the disease is increasing due to lack of physical activity. Millions of people are suffering from diabetes, especially heart disease. The World Health Organization also claims that physical inactivity, stress and unhealthy lifestyles are the biggest epidemics of the modern age.
