India is being considered as a ‘foreign threat’ in Canada’s upcoming Prime Ministerial elections. The country alleged that India could potentially interfere in its elections. However, the Indian government has not yet responded to Canada’s new allegations.

Indian news media NDTV reported that a declassified intelligence report by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service has referred to India as a ‘foreign threat’ and alleged that India could potentially interfere in Canada’s upcoming prime ministerial elections.

Last year, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau blamed India for the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijja in the country. After that there was a lot of controversy over the issue and the relationship between the two countries deteriorated. India finally denied this allegation. Because of this, Canada sees India as a ‘foreign threat’ in the upcoming elections.

This is the first time Canada has accused India of meddling in elections. China and Russia have faced such accusations from Canada before.
