Canada will support Bangladesh in institutional reforms

The Government of Canada has assured to provide assistance to advance the institutional reforms of Bangladesh.
On Tuesday (September 24), Chief Advisor of Bangladesh Professor Muhammad Yunus met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on the sidelines of the United Nations General Session.
Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau praised Professor Yunus’ leadership in the meeting.
In the brief meeting, both leaders discussed ways to strengthen Bangladesh-Canada relations, expand civil liberties, institutional reforms and support Bangladesh’s youth.
Chief Adviser Yunus highlighted in the meeting how the previous government destroyed the country’s institutional structures. Besides, he expressed appreciation for Canada’s friendly relations with Bangladesh and Canada’s support to the interim government.
In the meeting, Principal Adviser Yunus requested to extend visa opportunities for Bangladeshi students.
In addition, he presented Prime Minister Justin Trudeau with an artbook titled ‘The Art of Triumph’ containing photographs of murals painted by students during and after the July Revolution in Bangladesh.
