Canada will be Bangladesh’s ‘very strong’ partner in drawing more international attention to the Rohingya crisis. The country will support Bangladesh in this crisis.
Monday (January 29) afternoon at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Canadian High Commissioner Lily Nichols said this to reporters after a courtesy meeting with Hasan Mahmud.
He said, we (Bangladesh and Canada) will work together to shed more light on this (Rohingya) problem internationally. Let me highlight the problem that exists in Myanmar.
He stressed on creating a favorable environment inside the country so that the Rohingya refugees can return to their motherland.
Before this, he was in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Courtesy meeting with Hasan Mahmud. During this time, both held bilateral talks and discussed various issues related to Rohingya crisis, climate change, development sector and Canada’s Indo-Pacific strategy.
Lily Nichols said that freedom of expression and the need for civil society were also discussed in the meeting.
