Canada is making major changes to its visa policy to make it easier for Palestinians to travel there. Canadian Home Affairs Minister Mark Miller said visas for relatives of Palestinians living in Canada will be increased up to five times. That is, Ottawa is increasing the number of visas for Gazans to 5,000 under a special program.

This news has been reported by Al Jazeera sources.

Canada’s interior minister said, “We are deeply concerned about the inhumane situation in Gaza.” Many people living in Canada are worried about their loved ones in Palestine. Taking this issue into consideration, the Canadian government is thinking of giving this benefit to the people of Gaza under a special policy.

Mark Miller said the Canadian government is working with the Palestinian government to grant visas to Gazans. However, since the current situation in Gaza is not favorable, it is difficult to implement any action at the moment.

Those who want to leave Gaza to join family in Canada need an Israeli permit. It is also difficult for Gazans to leave that place. The Gazans’ suffering has increased recently after Israel took over the Rafah crossing in Egypt. The Israeli forces are carrying out inhumane atrocities on them by trapping them in a kind of Gaza.

In view of such a situation, Canada’s interior minister said, “Although it is not easy for them to leave Gaza now, we will arrange to bring those who want to come to their families from there once the situation changes.”

Egypt and Israel are important when it comes to visiting family in Canada. Canada has also communicated with these two countries.
