Applicants who are unable to schedule an appointment or submit their passport after this extended period should contact IRCC to request a new BIL or passport submission letter, the press release said. Any new issue will be valid for 30 days only.

The Government of Canada’s Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has temporarily extended the validity of Biometric Instruction Letters (BILs) and passport submission letters issued by Bangladesh Visa Application Centers due to high demand for appointments.

A spokesperson of VFS Global told the media on Friday. For applicants, this means that their IRCC BIL or passport application form will remain valid for another 30 days after the expiry date mentioned in the letter, the spokesperson said.

Applicants who are unable to schedule an appointment or submit their passport after this extended period should contact IRCC to request a new BIL or passport submission letter, the press release said. Any new issue will be valid for 30 days only.

“We urge applicants to plan their travel and apply for their Canada visa or permit in advance to avoid last-minute rush,” the spokesperson said.

The IRCC is the department of the Government of Canada that oversees immigration, refugee and Canadian citizenship issues in Canada.
