Air Canada to Restart Puerto Vallarta Flights After Security Pause

Air Canada says it will resume flights to Puerto Vallarta on Tuesday after briefly suspending service because of recent violence in parts of Mexico.
The airline validated that full operations from Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver will restart Tuesday. Flights from Toronto to Guadalajara are scheduled to resume on Wednesday.
Air Canada said the decision was made after consulting with the Canadian government and Mexican authorities, who have been analysing the situation on the ground.
The temporary suspension followed a wave of unrest that broke out Sunday after a major government operation led to the death of a well-known cartel leader. In response to the violence authorities in several regions urged both residents and tourists to stay indoors as a safety preventive.
Other Canadian airlines are also proceeding with restoring service. WestJet and Air Transat announced they will resume flights to and from Puerto Vallarta on Tuesday. WestJet is also resuming routes to Guadalajara and Manzanillo.
Airlines say they will continue to monitor the situation closely, highlighting that passenger safety remains their top priority as travel operations return to normal.
