Trump’s victory is good news for Modi, bad news for Dr Yunus

Taslima Jamal

Indian Hindus voted for Trump twice as enthusiastically than before.

Donald J Trump has won a historic victory. Trump has been impeached twice. He is convicted under criminal law. Having won once, lost once, fought and won. He was attacked twice, once shot in the ear, he did not retreat. The media was almost entirely against it and many senior leaders of the party did not support him. Democrats have tried everything to defeat him, all to no avail. The White House, Senate and Congress are going to the Republicans (GOP). Even in the governor’s race, the GOP is ahead. This is the first time since the 1800s that a presidential candidate has been able to come back from defeat. Trump’s victory brought cheers around the world, especially in the Indian subcontinent, as the Joseph Biden-Kamala Harris administration is seen by many as causing trouble in the region, mainly in Bangladesh.

Indian Hindus voted for Trump twice as enthusiastically than before. Specifically: BJP supporters monopolize support for Trump. A tweet from Trump before the election helped bring the Indian side a lot. In the tweet, he praised India and Modi. In the same tweet, he talked about the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh and commented that there was an ‘anarchic’ situation. Naturally, Hindus are happy with Trump’s victory. Before the election, Bangladeshi Trump supporters held a ‘motor procession’ in New York, and on Wednesday, the day after the victory, they gathered again to congratulate Trump. Sweets distributed in Queens after Trump won. BJP supporters held a rally and celebrated. Bangladeshi Hindus are supporters of Trump, they are happy with Trump’s victory. There are rumors of more events this weekend in the wake of Trump’s victory.

Muslims in America this time, especially: Muslims in the Indian subcontinent were very ‘in trouble’, who will vote for? They see Trump as ‘anti-Muslim’, and Kamala Harris as an ‘Indian Hindu’, and they also dislike him for his failure to end the war in the Middle East. Although the Muslim vote is not a factor in US national elections, Trump received more Muslim votes than ever before. Arab Muslims in Michigan were against Harris because of the Hamas-Israel war, and they disliked Trump. Yet Trump got some votes, Kamala got the majority, many did not vote for anyone. Bangladeshi Hindus voted exclusively for Trump, this time pro-Awami Muslims voted for Trump, hoping that if Trump wins, Sheikh Hasina’s return to power may be possible. In a ‘talk show’, the president of the United States Awami League said that his party has formally decided to vote for Trump, I was in that talk show.

Trump will be in power on January 20, 2025. But the day after Trump’s victory, the stock-exchange swelled. Trump said that if he wins, both wars will stop. After Trump’s victory, I understood in almost all phone conversations in Bangladesh and Kolkata, everyone is thinking that Sheikh Hasina is going to Dhaka again and becoming in power? Is it really possible? I have advised them that there is no reason to be so enthusiastic, first Trump goes to the White House, then Trump-Modi relationship should be strengthened, then the Bangladesh issue. The Hindus of Bangladesh want to know, will he do what Trump wrote in the tweet, will he save the Hindus? Trump’s victory brings good news for India, bad news for Dr Yunus in Dhaka. According to the news, Trump wanted to know, who is the Bangladeshi economist who gave money to Hillary Clinton’s fund? By now he must have known that that person is the Nobel Peace Prize laureate Dr. Mohammad Yunus, Chief Adviser to the Interim Government in Dhaka.

Former Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard has a good relationship with Trump. He was Trump’s opponent in the Republican primary this time, although he quickly withdrew his candidacy, endorsed Trump, and remained involved in Trump’s campaign. He is expected to get a place in Trump’s cabinet. Even his name is coming up as Foreign Secretary. Beautiful Tulsi Gabbard, 42 ISKCON supporter is excellent Hindu, and has Indian roots. Another presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is in the eye of President-Elect Trump. The Vice-President-elect’s wife Usha Chulukudi Vance is an Indian, becoming America’s ‘second lady’. Trump praised Usha in his ‘victory’ speech. Usha, Vance and Ramaswamy attended Yale Law School and are friends. This time another Indian Democrat Subhash Subhramaniam from Virginia has won the Congress, besides there are 5 more people in the Congress. Indians are growing in influence in US politics. Currently India-Canada relations are strained, Trump’s victory may affect it. China’s President spoke to Trump on the phone. The Russian president congratulated Trump at a rally. But in Trump’s victory, fear-armed ‘Islamic militancy’, although there was no war in Trump’s previous tenure. Previously, during Trump’s speech, ‘Modi Modi’ cheers at the rally, surely Dr. Yunus and the militancy of Bangladesh are not happy?
