I carry immense sorrow. The destruction in Rafah and Gaza, where lives have been torn apart, yet I have done nothing. This accusation and curse will follow me for life.
The hypocrisy of the entire Arab world has been laid bare, yet I could not protest or abandon it. My brothers’ money for Hajj and Umrah is spent on buying pet birds, participating in eagle-flying contests, and even making toilets with gold – yet not a word was spoken for the people of Palestine.
Those whom I once thought of as guardians of human rights have proven to be the most despicable in the world. If the rulers of poor countries abstain from voting, sanctions are imposed, and they are pressured. Yet, in Palestine, millions of people are refugees, thousands of lives have been lost, cities have been reduced to deserts, yet not a single word of protest has come from them. Where is there space for such sorrow?
People today measure others by their religion. In neighboring India, a group is marching in support of Israel. How deep must the mental corruption go to celebrate such injustice? Even here, some are surely sympathizers of Israel, though they may not dare speak it out of fear.
Not all sorrow will be erased in one lifetime. But if I live to see the fall of Israel and the independence of Palestine, all my grief will fade. May justice be served for every wrong. Even if I commit a sin, may Allah never forgive me. Say “Ameen.”
Don’t be surprised by the friendship of the Devil with the Devil. Rather, if there is no devilish love between them, I would be deeply sorrowed. In one lifetime, may there be no sorrow. I watch as the devil embraces the devil. Let them laugh a little. The day will come.
In this vast land of Canada, where people of diverse backgrounds stand united, we cannot ignore the suffering of others across the world. We, who live in peace and security, must stand in solidarity with those who have lost everything. Whether it’s the streets of Vancouver, Toronto, or Montreal, we must never turn a blind eye to injustice. Our compassion should transcend borders, and in moments like these, we should remember that human rights are universal, and the world should never stand still in the face of such devastation. From the Prairies to the Rockies, let us not forget our shared responsibility to stand up for what is right.
